Christmas Cheer

Before I can tell you about all the excitement on Christmas day I have to fill you in on the fun leading up to the big day!

To start the season the boys met their elf! It took them a few days to realize how it all works but once it clicked that elf worked some magic :) They named their elf Captain America.
At our elf breakfast... thank-you Grandma!

Captain America had fun playing with all the cars.
My mom's neighborhood put together a great Christmas celebration. They had train rides, sledding (in 80 degree weather), cookies, and best of all SANTA!

The boys waiting patiently for the train.
Hi Mommy :)

They thought sledding was the best thing ever.

Hold on!

While waiting in line to see Santa the boys decided to entertain themselves with a little hill rolling.

Santa!!! This was by far our most successful Santa year!
We had a cookie baking party at Grandma's house! Rocco and Taegan loved helping!
Rolling the dough

Here is a video of some decorating action!

Hanging with my homies :)

So far I have been enjoying my break and hanging with my two little guys. We've done a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Rocco enjoying his morning coffee.
Taegan savoring his cup of coffee.

We ventured out to the Arboretum with our good friends Kate, Ellie, and Jack. I can't believe we have never been here before! We had so much fun!

Rocco playing with all the pumpkins.

Taegan rearranging all the pumpkins.

Feeding the sheep.

Getting some bunny love.

The Frog Fountain :)

Just gorgeous....

Snack Break!
We had some fun park time with our friends Jenna and Peyton... duck feeding included!

And I realized I never posted Halloween pics so here are our firefighters with their sidekick Spiderman!

A rare pic of all 4 of us!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The Mother of Boys

If I were to make a list of my favorite things, here is what would NOT be on it:
  • trucks (or any kind of vehicle)
  • dirt
  • wrestling
If Rocco and Taegan were to make a list, the above mentioned items would be at the top. Since the boys have an obsession with all things transportation, I have learned a few things about excavators and stabilizers and you know I don't mind getting dirty..... but the whole wrestling thing..... it is beyond me! But lately our house has turned into WWE and everything turns into a wrestling match. Just yesterday they were helping me sort the laundry and somehow that got turned into a smack down. And the LOVE it! They can't get enough of it. Especially if their Daddy joins in. Ray tells me it is a boy thing... and I guess it must be. For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would think wrestling is fun???

Our trampoline is now an octagon and jumping no longer takes place. For your viewing pleasure here is a mild wrestling match.

And since I have been away so long here is a dance video to make it up to you :)

Sound the Alarm!

Better late than never to get the boy's party pics posted!!

To celebrate Rocco and Taegan turning three we had a fire truck birthday party, complete with a real fire truck! There is a company in Dallas (Big D Engine Company) that bring a fire truck right to your door step. The kids got to climb all over it before the firefighter gave his fire safety talk. Afterwards the kids got to spray the hose. Rocco and Taegan LOVED every minute of it :)

Here are some pictures from the day (Thank-you Aunt Tori for being our party photographer!)

Expolring the truck

Best day ever!!
As you can tell the are wonderful picture takers :)
Everyone being great listeners during the fire safety talk :)

Hose time!!

Even Daddy got in on the action!

Make a wish Rocco...

Taegan must have a serious wish!

Trying to get a family picture once they have a cupcake in their hand= fail.

I can't believe my boys are 3! In the words of Rocco "What happened to your babies?"

Hollywood is calling....

Last week the boys took part in their very first performance!! I was so excited to watch my little cuties get on stage and shine :) Oh and shine they did....

Sorry it is such a bad pic :(
Now before you say awwwww.... let me tell you this is NOT a sweet embrace. This was an aggressive hug that resulted in  knocking some kids over and getting scolded by their teacher not once but FOUR times! Yes it was a very proud mommy moment :)

And just a quick catch up before I do the birthday party post!

We are in our last few weeks of summer before school starts up :( Despite the boys driving me crazy at times, I will miss them. Here are a few things we have been doing....
We have been doing a book study ;)

We like to create our own train tracks

We like showing off our muscles

Sorting things by color is a new fav

We went to feed the ducks and Rocco just tossed in the whole bag of buns.... really?

Once I fished it out it was a feeding frenzy :)
Birthday and Party post coming soon!!!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Rocco and Taegan!!! My "babies" are 3! I am told on a daily basis "I am not a baby, I am big boy!" And yes I have to agree they are big boys, but these 2 feisty, full of energy, sweet boys will always be my babies :)

So here is a little photo recap of the last 3 years.....

Birth day.... so tiny :)
1st Birthday!
2nd Birthday!!
3rd Birthday!!! (sorry for the quality of the pic)
We celebrated their birthday with a fire truck party.... I will be posting pictures from the fiesta soon!!

I am trying to remember what LBK (life before kids) was like... What did I do all day? No seriously what did I do with all that (kid free) time? Life without these two miniature beings seems like a distant memory. But it makes me laugh how much more I get done these days with what feels like no free time. It really is crazy how much more productive I am since becoming a mommy. Any-who with summer in full swing I am trying to find the balance of getting some much needed projects done around the house, getting organized, have fun with the boys, and RELAX.... piece of cake right? :)

So let me share some pictures with just how I am doing with the above mentioned list....

Getting organized... Don't Judge :)

This has been a project I have been putting off. Getting all the piles of paper organized! So I went around the house and gathered all papers. Even the papers that were in boxes from our move (a year ago!) And I sorted away.
This is the "office area" that will be the house for the above papers. In my defense this picture was taken after I started sorting and organizing :)
This is the system for mail that will stay downstairs and once a week it will get filed away.
The first picture of the stacks.... it all got sorted and filed!
Everything nice and neat!!
 Even the inside drawers!!

Once this project was all said and done I felt great!! A BIG check of my to-do! I've accomplished some smaller organizing task like the junk drawers, toy baskets, and my "craft" table.

A little late on this post but wanted to share my crafty little project for father's day (thanks to pinterest of course)! I asked the boys some questions, typed it up, and put it in a frame! And of course added some details to make it cute :)

Relaxing.... well I did have a hot date :)

And fun with the boys.... this is what we have been doing a lot of...

 and being silly :)

Another goal is to get better with my updates so I don't have to cram so much into one!!

And I leave you with a picture of my loves from our photo session in May :)
